The dates for our popular Red Sea Sharks workshop have now been set. Join us in Marsa Shagra for 3 days all about sharks - learn about sharks from an expert and have the chance to dive with them in the world famous Elphinstone Reef. The workshop is scheduled in the height of the Oceanic White Tip season to give the best chance of close encounters with these amazing creatures.
As always Dr Elke Bojanowski from Red Sea Sharks will be leading the workshop. Her research focuses on photo-identification studies of local shark populations, mainly oceanic white-tip sharks, but also grey reef and silky sharks. Additionally a general shark monitoring project has been carried out since 2010.
2017 Schedule:
Day 1 (5th Nov.): Evening Presentation (Intro to Red Sea Sharks, their biology, how to identify & dive with them)
Day 2 (6th Nov.): Two morning dives in Elphinstone & evening presentation (Shark behaviour & interactions with humans)
Day 3 (7th Nov.): Two morning dives in Elphinstone & final evening presentation (Shark conservation & research)
Day 4 (8th Nov.): Optional additional two dives in Elphinstone
