What happens on the course?
A pre-assessment dive may be necessary to assess the suitability of the student to the Self-Reliant Course. The course consists of a short theory session and three further open water dives. The PADI Self-reliant specialty has no manual, no final exam and no knowledge reviews to complete. The theory consists of a presentation by our instructor and teaches you all the aspects of how to plan and carry out your dive without the need for relying on a buddy in emergency situations.
During the three dives you will master various skills, look at different kit configuration, and test the theory you have learnt.
Certification for this course is at the instructor’s discretion.
*divers holding the PADI Deep Diver specialty certification may be certified as a self-reliant diver to 40m.
