Congratulations again to Tim, and good luck to all those participating this year!
Paul Duxfield, our new competition judge:
"I was again torn between this selection, this is really a difficult task and in the end it was down to the wire betweenthe lovely portrait of the Napolean or Maori Wrasse, and the beautiful study of the sunlit jellyfish floating near the surfacewith cascading sunbeams. The head on shot of the Napolean perfectly framed against a simple blue background was the perfect example of a well executed fish portrait.
However I love a good jellyfish shot and this one showed perfect exposure control married with a strong aesthetic sense of framing, not easy whenshooting against the light so for me it was Tim’s jellyfish shot that clinched it in the end.Very well done."
