We are happy to announce that the winner of the RSDS Photo Competition for October has been chosen. Congratulations to Sibylle Malinke with her photo "AIR!".
Sibylle wins a free stay at the RSDS village of her choice. You can view the winning photo, and all the October participants here.
If you would like a chance to win, simply register on our website and upload your photos from our competition page. Each day we choose a 'photo of the day' from the selection of entries. Registered users of our website can give all the photos a star rating. At the end of the month our Photo Pro and photography workshop leader, Paul ‘Duxy’ Duxfield, looks at the votes and chooses a winner from the highest scoring photos. Full terms and conditions and prize details are available here.
Congratulations again to Sibylle, and good luck to all those participating this year!
Paul Duxfield, our competition judge:
"This months choice was a very easy one with a real stand out photograph from Sibylle Malinke of a stunning portrait of a turtle coming up for some air. You can see every little detail, its teeth, every scale on its head and its beautiful eyes, perfectly framed with just a tiny hint of motion in the water cascading around its shell. The angle right at the same height of the turtle places a balanced horizon line separating the land from the sea, and is nicely out of focus placing the emphasis of the shotright on the turtle itself. Technically and compositionally it ticks all the boxes. I wish I had taken it, cracking shot, very well done indeed Sibylle.
