We are happy to announce that the winner of the RSDS Photo Competition for November has been chosen. Congratulations to Michael Tönsing with his photo "...who is on my face...?".
Michael wins a free stay at the RSDS village of his choice. You can view the winning photo, and all the November participants here.
If you would like a chance to win, simply register on our website and upload your photos from our competition page. Each day we choose a 'photo of the day' from the selection of entries. Registered users of our website can give all the photos a star rating. At the end of the month our Photo Pro and photography workshop leader, Paul ‘Duxy’ Duxfield, looks at the votes and chooses a winner from the highest scoring photos. Full terms and conditions and prize details are available here.
Congratulations again to Michael, and good luck to all those participating in December!
Paul Duxfield, our competition judge:
"This month it was down to the wire with two stand out shots. One dramatic wideangle picture beautifully composedand another at the other end of the scale of a common subject but with a twist, that raised the bar.As an underwater photographer I like to take pictures that share what our experiences are like to the wider world. And so I’m immediately drawn to a great wideangle shot. However I do recognise that within the diving community we love a great macro shot. The pictures if you hadn’t guessed already are from Michael and Irena.Michael’s shot of a Clownfish super close up, getting cleaned by a shrimp shows great patienceand observant dive skills. And Irena’s picture of a sidemount diver exploring a wreck is a brilliant example of the sort of scene setting picture which I personally love, and is the sort of shot you see a lot advertising wreck diving. If I could award a draw for this month I would, but after much deliberation I’ve decided to come down on the side of Michaels magnificent macro shot of the Clown Fish being cleaned. So very well done Michael it was a close call, and commiserations to Irena for what in my mind was an equally excellent shot.
Paul “Duxy” Duxfield"
