Registered users of our website can give all the photos a star rating. At the end of the month our Photo Pro and photography workshop leader, Paul ‘Duxy’ Duxfield, looks at the votes and chooses a winner from the highest scoring photos. Congratulations again to Jonas, and good luck to all those participating this year!
Paul Duxfield, our new competition judge:
"I was immediately drawn to this very unusual capture of a pair of Dugong.
A creature that is normally seen munching away at the seagrass.
So, to see a pair of them swimming gracefully rather than head down in the foliage is a rare treat.
Jonas has also edited them skilfully in black and white which was what drew me to the interesting composition in the first place.
The two attendant remora are the icing on the cake for this fab shot.
If I had a tiny criticism I might have tried flipping the shot so that they were looking to the right, and maybe cropped a little more of the negative space at the top.
Paul “Duxy” Duxfield"
