We are happy to announce that the winner of the RSDS Photo Competition for January has been chosen. Congratulations to Ahmed Helal for his photo ''.
Ahmed wins a free stay at the RSDS village of his choice. You can view the winning photo, and all the January participants here.
If you would like a chance to win, simply register on our website and upload your photos from our competition page. Each day we choose a 'photo of the day' from the selection of entries. Registered users of our website can give all the photos a star rating. At the end of the month our Photo Pro and photography workshop leader, Paul ‘Duxy’ Duxfield, looks at the votes and chooses a winner from the highest scoring photos. Full terms and conditions and prize details are available here.
Congratulations again to Ahmed, and good luck to all those participating this year!
Paul Duxfield, our competition judge:
"‘Spectacular’ is what I thought when I saw the winning picture this month. There were a lot of great shots as always but this one by Ahmed Helal really shone. Apart from being a great behavioural shot showing a pride(?) of Lionfish preparing to feast upon aschool of bait fish, it’s also beautifully composed and lit too. A worthy winner and proof that the shooter really knows his subject which is vital if you're to rise above in underwater photography."
Paul “Duxy” Duxfield
