RSDS has teamed up with KarmWater for a new solution to provide water to Marsa Shagra. KarmWater introduced optimal solutions from a technical and economic point of view to overcome water challenges in the region by building the first Water Desalination Plant Using Solar Power in Marsa Alam. The plant has been some months under construction and testing and became fully operation in October 2022.
The plant at Marsa Shagra uses reverse-osmosis technology and is powered by electricity produced by solar photovoltaics. The capacity of the desalination plant is 300 m³/day of clean water. The produced water has low salinity and neutral pH meeting not only the local regulations, but also the World Health Organization (WHO) standards.
RSDS are very proud to be working with KarmWater to find a more environmentally friendly solution to the issue of water management.
