We are very happy to announce that Marsa Shagra and Wadi Lahami have become the first diving centers in the Marsa Alam area to become official Green Fins members. Green Fins is the only internationally recognized voluntary eco-certification offering a sustainable management approach for diving & snorkeling operators.
Not only are we the first centers in Marsa Alam, but according to the scores we achieved we are also ranking in the top 10 Green Fins centers worldwide.
Green Fins was started by the United Nations Environmental Program in collaboration with the Reef-World Foundation and is an international voluntary eco-certification for diving centers. Egypt has recently joined 10 other countries across the world in adopting the Green Fins initiative and it is managed locally alongside the Egyptian Chamber of Diving and Watersports.
In order to become a member we had to pass an assessment to prove that our diving operations have adopted environmentally friendly practices. We are very proud to have achieved membership status and are very grateful to the Green Fins team for their assistance and their excellent educational materials which we use in our locations to inform our guests about environmentally friendly practices.
