Mr. Bernard Jacquemart, security adviser of the French Ministry of Tourism visited us today in Marsa Shagra Village.
He is currently making a tour of all the tourist resorts from Sharm El Sheikh, through Taba, Hurghada down to Marsa Alam, during which he visited hotels and resorts as well as police stations and offices in order to get a closer look at the security situation in the Red Sea holiday destinations. He selected some famous hotels in the area for this purpose and we are proud to have been one of them.
Mr. Jacquemart met with Shagra Village Manager and Marketing Manager Rafik Farouk as well as with our French instructor Cyril to learn about their experiences in Egypt over the past weeks. He also talked to two of our return French guests from Fun & Fly, Laurence and Alain, and asked them about their opinion with regard to security in the Red Sea and which activities they have been doing so far. Laurence & Alain told him that they're enjoying their diving holiday just the same as all their other visits here and that they do not feel affected by anything that might be happening in other parts of the country.
Mr. Jacquemart himself is a CMAS diving instructor who, after a quick tour through our village, decided to come back in April next year with a group of divers from his diving club in France. When he heard about the Manta Ray & Whale Shark sighting he missed a couple of days ago in Elphinstone, made him even more keen to book a trip to us very soon to experience an encounter like this. Mr. Jacquemart said, he will ‘like’ our FB page to stay up to date with all the marine life sightings on site.
The feedback about the security level and service quality at Marsa Shagra was very good and he informed us that his trip as a whole has been a success - he will take some positive feedback to the Ministry of Tourism in France, which will hold a meeting next week about the safety of tourists in Egypt. We hope that the efforts of Mr. Bernard Jacquemart will result in a positive reaction from the side of the French government concerning the travel warning for the Red Sea and we thank him for his excellent job and support.
