Following our will to be as sustainable as we can and to empower locals through employment, we own a farm right in front of Marsa Shagra village where we grow many kind of fruits and vegetables and breed poultry and livestock. Throughout the year we always have between 5 to 12 employees working full-time in our farm.
We have 7 polytunnels in which we grow zucchinis, cucumbers, tomatoes, lemons, pomegranates, figs, oranges, chillis, peppers, eggplants, cabbages, lettuces or cauliflowers. These fruits and vegetables are used in the restaurant daily to guarantee our guests fresh and healthy food. Thanks to the hot and quite constant weather in Egypt, we can guarantee most of them all year long.
In our farm, we also breed around 1 350 chickens, 150 ducks, around 30 rabbits and few goats. As much as possible, we use the eggs of our chickens to cook, for example your omelet in the morning. We also eat our own chickens and sell the excess of poultry and livestock to locals.
We are really proud of our farm which guarantee fresh and local food to our guests all year long, while making Marsa Shagra a more sustainable village. For now our farm supply only Marsa Shagra but we hope to supply our 3 villages in a near future.
