Anyone can register on our website and vote on photos entered into the competition. At the end of the month our Photo Pro and photography workshop leader, Paul ‘Duxy’ Duxfield, looks at the votes and chooses a winner from the highest scoring photos. Full terms and conditions and prize details are available here.
Congratulations again to Alejandro, and good luck to all those participating in 2020!
From Paul Duxfield, our competition judge:
'Well, I know I always complain about this being a difficult choice, but this month there was a load of very strong contenders, and in a couple of cases a couple of great entries from individuals. Both Gennady and Pål came up with a pair of beautiful shots making the overall decisions very hard. Well as taxing as it can be whilst sat here hunched over my keyboard, drinking mulled wine and eating mince pies ;) I shouldn't complain theres much worse tasks to be doing like tidying up the back garden or cleaning the kitchen LOL
In the end though before my decisions are clouded too much by spiced xmas drinks! I have ended up focussing on two stunning macro shots, and there really wasn’t a lot between them to pick one over the other. And they are Irena Coks fantastic shot of a pair of squat lobsters on a fire coral, and the equally beautiful side on portrait of a tiny cleaner fish attending to a yellow butterfly fish. Both of these shots are lovely in their own right, but ultimately it was the simplicity of Alejandro Amayas cleaner fish on the Butterfly that I decided did it for me. Cracking pictures both of them but very well done indeed Alejandro great stuff.'
